    The aim of the course is to teach students to use modern approaches in the development of new products and innovation of existing ones. Getting acquainted with modern tools, their possibilities of use and limitations.

    The content of the course consists of the following thematic units:

    1. Introduction to additive technologies, comparison with other production technologies.
    2. History and development of additive technologies and methods of rapid prototyping.
    3. General principle of printing 3D objects, requirements for input data and their quality.
    4. Possibilities of additive technology in terms of design, materials and quality.
    5. Classification of additive technologies, possibilities and differences of individual methods, suitability for use.
    6. An overview of the most important methods of additive technologies based on 3D printing from photopolymers.
    7. An overview of the most important methods of additive technologies based on 3D printing from powders.
    8. An overview of the most important methods of additive technologies based on 3D printing from solid state material.
    9. Printing preparation, the influence of various settings of printing parameters on the resulting properties of models.
    10. Processing of CAD data for production using additive technologies. Example of calculating the price of a printed part.
    11. Operation of machines for 3D printing - preparation of the machine for printing, setup with the start of own production.
    12. Post-processing - final works on printed parts.
    13. Prototype technology of vacuum casting into silicone molds.
    14. The future of additive technologies, hybrid technologies.

    Introduction of selected 3D printing technologies based on solid materials.

  • CAD models for 3D printing

    • Prepare a CAD model in STL format of approx. 50x50x30 mm of a part suitable for additive manufacturing and submit it to the teacher for inspection and possible further discussion on Friday 2021/11/19. It is possible to prepare also an assembly of several parts into one functional unit. You can upload the file(s) here but it is not necessary.
